Prudential BSN Takaful Berhad (PruBSN), Malaysia’s leading family takaful operator, has concluded the year with a strong reaffirmation of its commitment to social sustainability, inclusion and community resilience. Guided by its mission to provide simple and accessible health and financial protection, PruBSN continues to embed sustainability at the core of its business while aligning its operations with Shariah principles to empower underserved communities and strengthen long-term resilience.

With nearly two decades of experience in the takaful industry and national penetration reaching 20%, PruBSN remains focused on addressing persistent gaps in healthcare access and financial security. This is particularly crucial as a significant portion of Malaysians still forgo medical treatment due to financial constraints. In response, the company has expanded its social impact beyond conventional corporate responsibility by delivering sustainable takaful solutions through strategic partnerships that address real community needs.

Among its key initiatives is the iTEKAD Protection Programme, launched in collaboration with Bank Muamalat and Bank Simpanan Nasional at the Global Islamic Finance Forum 2025. The programme provides takaful protection for microentrepreneurs, delivery riders and participants of the Inisiatif Pendapatan Rakyat, with the aim of strengthening financial resilience among vulnerable groups and reaching up to 8,000 beneficiaries. PruBSN also partnered with Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad to introduce Amanah Medicare, an initiative offering free outpatient medical coverage and cashless access to general practitioner services for asnaf beneficiaries.

In parallel, PruBSN continued its Microtakaful Jariyah initiative and rolled out the Skim Insurans Kesejahteraan Rakyat 3.0 (SIKR 3.0) in collaboration with the Prime Minister’s Department. Since its inception, the programme has provided takaful protection to more than one million hardcore poor households registered under eKasih, reinforcing financial security for some of Malaysia’s most vulnerable families. The year also marked the 10th anniversary of PruBSN Prihatin, its charitable arm, which has impacted over 250,000 individuals through initiatives in education, health, life skills and disaster relief.

As PruBSN looks ahead, the company remains steadfast in its purpose of being a trusted partner and protector for every life and every future. By fostering meaningful collaborations and addressing critical issues such as healthcare affordability and financial inclusion, PruBSN continues to build momentum towards creating lasting social impact and a more resilient society.
