Health Summit Asia 2026 (HSA2026) officially opened today at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, marking the start of a three-day regional platform that brings together the healthcare and wellness industries under one integrated ecosystem. With an expected attendance of approximately 10,000 delegates, more than 100 exhibitors, and participation from over 40 global and regional speakers, the summit aims to generate up to RM1.5 billion in commercial opportunities across ASEAN’s healthcare and wellness economy.
The Opening Ceremony was graced by Malaysia’s Deputy Minister of Health, YB Dato’ Hajjah Hanifah Hajar Taib, and attended by industry partners, healthcare leaders, and international delegates, reinforcing Malaysia’s growing position as a regional hub for healthcare innovation and wellness collaboration.
The Malaysian Government continues to strengthen its commitment to the healthcare sector through significant investments that reflect efforts to build a future-ready, inclusive, and people-centred healthcare system. In her address, YB Dato’ Hajjah Hanifah emphasised that HSA2026 reflects a collaborative approach across disciplines, bringing together medicine, wellness, and digital innovation. She noted that progress in healthcare cannot be achieved in isolation, but through strong global partnerships, with a focus not only on treatment but also on prevention, resilience, and long-term preparedness.
Malaysia’s healthcare sector is undergoing rapid transformation, driven by advancements in AI-enabled diagnostics, medtech innovation, and digital health platforms. At the same time, the medical tourism industry continues to grow strongly, with rising revenues and nearly double the number of patient arrivals compared to pre-pandemic levels, further strengthening Malaysia’s position as a leading healthcare destination in the region. The convergence of technology, policy, and consumer demand makes HSA2026 a timely and strategic platform for dialogue, collaboration, and future-focused planning in the healthcare and wellness sectors.
Organised by Qube Integrated Malaysia with Green Wellness Malaysia as Joint Organiser, HSA2026 brings together SEACare, Southeast Asia’s leading B2B healthcare platform, and the International Wellness Expo, a premier wellness event in Malaysia. This expansion reflects a regional shift towards preventive care, holistic wellbeing, and lifestyle-driven health solutions, aligning with the government’s increased emphasis on preventive and primary healthcare.
According to Richard Teo, HSA2026 represents a significant evolution in integrating the healthcare and wellness ecosystems. He explained that the collaboration with the International Wellness Expo expands the platform beyond traditional B2B healthcare into a broader healthcare and wellness convergence, positioning HSA2026 as Asia’s leading platform for integrated solutions, meaningful dialogue, and sustainable progress across the regional healthcare economy.
Meanwhile, Datin Dorph Peng emphasised that wellness should not only begin after illness occurs, but earlier through awareness, prevention, informed choices, and access to appropriate health solutions. She highlighted that the future of healthcare must combine medical expertise, preventive care, digital innovation, and human-centred wellness solutions to create a more comprehensive and accessible health ecosystem.
Key programme highlights at HSA2026 include a high-level conference featuring insights on market trends, investment opportunities, and emerging technologies; an exhibition showcasing AI and digital health, medical devices, wearable diagnostics, hospital infrastructure, automation, and wellness solutions; business matching sessions involving more than 250 targeted B2B meetings; and public–private partnership discussions focused on regulatory alignment, investment incentives, and shared infrastructure development.
With the theme “Discover. Connect. Collaborate.”, HSA2026 serves as a catalyst in shaping the future of healthcare and wellness across ASEAN. Over the three-day event, delegates will engage in discussions, explore innovations, and build partnerships that will help define the next phase of the region’s healthcare economy.
