Maxim E-hailing Malaysia implemented a six-city campaign across East Malaysia in support of the Kaamatan harvest festival in Sabah and the Gawai festival in Sarawak, offering free transportation from major festival hubs. The initiative was aimed at improving mobility for thousands of participants attending the celebrations while ensuring convenient access to key event locations. In Sabah, free ride services were provided at the Unduk Ngadau competition at KDCA Hall in Kota Kinabalu, the Fun Fair at Borneo Fun Park in Sandakan, and LikeFest 2026 in Tawau. In Sarawak, specially themed Gawai vehicles operated in Kuching, Miri and Bintulu, providing complimentary rides throughout the festive period.
In addition to transport services, Maxim collaborated with local artists from Sabah and Sarawak to develop a limited-edition postcard series celebrating cultural heritage. The Sabah collection featured works by Rosemary Yvonne Marcus, Logiman J. Gamad and Sabating Ev Baron Kampiau, while the Sarawak edition included contributions from Lim Mei Joo and Amey Sheikh Ali. The postcards reflected traditional motifs and cultural identity, and were distributed free of charge to passengers inside campaign vehicles as part of the ride experience.
Mohd Hazwan Musley, Director of Maxim E-hailing Malaysia, said the initiative reflects the company’s approach of integrating mobility solutions with cultural support. He noted that Kaamatan and Gawai are deeply meaningful celebrations that represent the identity of Sabah and Sarawak communities, and Maxim aimed to support both accessibility and cultural appreciation through this campaign. He added that the collaboration with artists helped extend the festive experience beyond event venues.
The limited-edition postcards were fully distributed during the campaign period, indicating strong engagement from the public. The initiative demonstrated the potential of e-hailing platforms to contribute beyond transportation by supporting cultural initiatives and enhancing community participation in major regional festivals.
