International Workplace Group (IWG), the world's largest hybrid workspace platform, has introduced Malaysia's first Regus Express at Crowne Plaza Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC), marking a new milestone in the country's flexible workspace landscape. Strategically located along Jalan Yap Kwan Seng, the hotel-integrated workspace is designed to cater to business travellers, entrepreneurs, corporate professionals and remote workers seeking a premium and convenient place to work in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
Spanning 148 square metres, the Regus Express concept combines professional work facilities with the comfort and services of a luxury hotel. Situated within walking distance of MRT and LRT stations, the workspace provides seamless access to major commercial hubs, embassies, retail outlets, restaurants and iconic landmarks such as the Petronas Twin Towers and Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The central location makes it an attractive option for professionals who value accessibility and flexibility throughout their working day.
The launch reflects the growing demand for hybrid working solutions as more organisations embrace flexible work arrangements. Rather than committing to long-term office leases, businesses are increasingly seeking agile workspace solutions that allow employees to work efficiently while reducing operational costs. Industry forecasts also indicate that flexible workspaces could account for as much as 30% of commercial real estate globally by 2030, highlighting the continued shift towards hybrid work environments.
The new Regus Express also strengthens IWG's presence in Malaysia, where the company now operates 48 flexible workspace centres under brands including Regus, Spaces, Signature and HQ. Of these, 36 locations are situated across Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, reinforcing the company's commitment to expanding premium workspace options in key business districts throughout the country.
According to IWG Founder and CEO Mark Dixon, Kuala Lumpur remains a strategic market for the company's continued expansion, with increasing demand for flexible, cost-efficient workspace solutions. He noted that introducing the Regus Express brand in Malaysia enables businesses to enjoy greater flexibility, operational efficiency and access to high-quality workspaces that support modern ways of working.
Meanwhile, IWG Country Head for Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei, Vijayakumar Tangarasan, said the partnership with Crowne Plaza KLCC creates a new benchmark by integrating premium office facilities with luxury hospitality services. He added that businesses today require workspaces that support productivity while offering convenience, connectivity and an enhanced customer experience within one location.
Beyond workspace access, the collaboration also offers additional benefits for IWG members, including preferential rates on selected food and beverage outlets, accommodation and banquet packages at Crowne Plaza KLCC through the IHG application. The initiative forms part of IWG's broader strategy to expand hotel-based flexible workspaces worldwide, leveraging its network of more than 5,000 locations across 120 countries to support the future of hybrid work.
