KUALA LUMPUR, 21 August 2026 — Deputy Prime Minister II YAB Datuk Amar Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof has been discharged from Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) after undergoing successful coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery on 12 August 2026. His discharge marks a positive development in his recovery, with the medical team confirming that he remains in stable condition and is recovering well following the procedure.
Fadillah will now continue his recovery at home under the supervision of his medical team. His post-surgery care will include regular follow-up appointments and cardiac rehabilitation as advised by his doctors, with the focus on supporting his recovery and ensuring his condition continues to improve.
For the time being, the medical team has recommended that visits be limited to close family members. This is intended to provide the Deputy Prime Minister II with adequate time to rest, recuperate and focus on his recovery following the cardiac procedure.
Prof. Dato’ Sri Dr. Mohamed Ezani Md Taib, Group Chief Executive Officer of IJN, said the medical team is pleased with Fadillah’s progress after the surgery. His condition has improved sufficiently for him to continue recovering at home, while he will remain under the care and monitoring of the medical team through follow-up treatment and rehabilitation.
IJN has also appealed for the public’s understanding in giving the Deputy Prime Minister II the necessary privacy and space during this period. The institution emphasised the importance of allowing him sufficient time to recuperate fully before resuming his usual activities.
IJN also expressed its appreciation to Malaysians for their prayers, support and well wishes extended to Fadillah throughout his treatment and recovery. His discharge represents an encouraging step forward as he continues the next phase of his recovery at home.
