KUALA LUMPUR 21 AUGUST 2026Global supply chain leader HAVI is set to strengthen Malaysia’s position as a regional digital supply chain hub with the establishment of its TechHUB in Kuala Lumpur. Scheduled to officially open in November 2026, the Kuala Lumpur facility will be one of only four HAVI technology hubs globally and the company’s first in Asia Pacific. The move reflects HAVI’s confidence in Malaysia’s technology capabilities, skilled workforce and strategic connectivity within the region.

The Kuala Lumpur TechHUB will bring together regional market expertise, digital capabilities and local and international talent to develop technology solutions tailored to the evolving needs of Asia-Pacific supply chains. Its key areas of focus will include AI-powered demand forecasting, data analytics, automation and Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled fleet management, with the aim of helping logistics operations become more responsive, efficient and resilient.

Since March 2026, HAVI has already recruited 50 technology professionals for the TechHUB and expects the workforce to reach 100 employees by the end of the year. The roles will cover a wide range of technology and business functions, including demand forecasting, data analytics, product management, software engineering, cybersecurity, cloud operations and change management.

According to HAVI Chief Digital & Information Officer Reto Sahli, Malaysia offers a strong combination of technology ambition, multilingual talent and regional connectivity that can support the company’s next phase of growth in Asia Pacific. Through the Kuala Lumpur TechHUB, HAVI aims not only to develop digital solutions for customers and operations but also to create opportunities for Malaysian professionals to take on international responsibilities and contribute to the transformation of supply chains across the region.

The company also plans to establish a structured talent development programme in Malaysia to strengthen technical and leadership capabilities. The programme will include upskilling in areas such as artificial intelligence, analytics, automation and cloud-based supply chain systems, alongside functional training in logistics operations and leadership development for professionals taking on regional and global roles.

Daniela Ribeiro, Director of Technology Transformation at HAVI.

HAVI Director of Technology Transformation Daniela Ribeiro highlighted the company’s global “Follow the Sun” operating model, where technology teams across different time zones collaborate continuously. Under this approach, the Kuala Lumpur team will work closely with HAVI’s other global technology hubs, including Lisbon, allowing projects to progress around the clock while encouraging the exchange of ideas, knowledge and expertise across markets.

The establishment of the TechHUB comes as Malaysia’s logistics and supply chain sector undergoes rapid digital transformation. The country’s logistics market is projected to grow from US$29.70 billion in 2025 to US$31.23 billion in 2026, with the market expected to reach US$40.11 billion by 2031. Growth is being driven by factors including e-commerce expansion, supply chain modernisation and increasing adoption of automation technologies.

At the same time, Malaysia’s digital economy continues to attract significant investment, with RM87.4 billion in approved digital investments recorded in 2025. These investments are expected to generate more than 31,000 high-value jobs, further strengthening the country’s technology talent ecosystem and supporting its ambitions to become a leading digital economy in the region.

With the Kuala Lumpur TechHUB, HAVI is positioning Malaysia as an important centre for technology-driven supply chain innovation across Asia Pacific. The hub is also expected to provide Malaysian professionals in software engineering, AI, data analytics, cloud computing, cybersecurity, IoT and product management with opportunities to work on large-scale international projects and contribute to solutions shaping the future of global logistics.
