HONOR continues to strengthen its presence in Malaysia’s mid-range smartphone segment, with the HONOR X Series maintaining its position as Malaysia’s No. 1 best-selling mid-range smartphone series for four consecutive generations.

According to HONOR’s data, the X Series held the No. 1 position for 37 consecutive months from February 2023 to March 2026, reaching a peak market share of 68% in the fourth quarter of 2025. The sustained performance reflects strong consumer demand for smartphones that offer a balance of durability, long-lasting battery life and reliable performance at an accessible price point.

Beyond market figures, the X Series has also established itself as an everyday smartphone companion for consumers worldwide. Since its introduction, the series has attracted more than 130 million users globally, highlighting its growing appeal among consumers seeking devices designed to handle the demands of everyday life.

In Malaysia, HONOR said long-lasting battery life, durability and performance are among the key factors driving consumer preference for the X Series. These features have become increasingly important as users rely on their smartphones for work, communication, entertainment, navigation and content creation throughout the day.

Battery endurance has remained a key focus across successive generations of the X Series. The latest HONOR X9d 5G features an ultra-large 8,300mAh Silicon-Carbon Battery, designed to provide extended usage for activities ranging from calls and messaging to gaming and other demanding daily tasks.

The battery capacity has also been highlighted through users’ everyday experiences. One X9d user who primarily uses the smartphone for work said the device could last up to 12 hours on a single charge while handling calls, WhatsApp and other work-related activities. For delivery riders who depend on their smartphones for navigation and customer communication, the extended battery life can also provide greater convenience during long working hours.

Durability is another area where HONOR has sought to differentiate the X Series. With smartphones frequently exposed to accidental drops, scratches, dust and water, the company has continued to enhance the series’ resistance to everyday challenges.

The HONOR X9b 5G became the world’s first smartphone to achieve a Five-Star Overall Drop Resistance certification from SGS, establishing a durability benchmark in its segment. Building on that achievement, the HONOR X9d became the first smartphone to receive the SGS Triple-Resistant Premium Performance Certification, recognising its resistance against drops, dust and water.

The X9d’s durability has also been reflected in feedback from users. One user shared that her child had accidentally dropped the smartphone several times, yet the device remained in good condition. Another user, who works as a food delivery rider, said the smartphone continued to perform well after several months of use, including during rainy conditions without a waterproof cover.

The HONOR X9d also features IP69K water and dust resistance, offering additional protection for users operating in more challenging environments. Such durability can be particularly relevant for outdoor workers and delivery riders who rely on their smartphones throughout the day regardless of weather conditions.

Performance remains another important component of the X Series proposition. The HONOR X9d is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 Mobile Platform, providing the processing capability needed for everyday applications, gaming and content creation.

For mobile gamers, the smartphone is positioned to deliver a smooth experience when running demanding titles such as Call of Duty. Meanwhile, content creators can benefit from its performance capabilities and 512GB storage, providing additional space for storing footage and editing videos directly on the device.

The combination of battery endurance, durability and performance illustrates how the X Series has evolved around practical consumer needs. Rather than focusing solely on specifications, HONOR is positioning its mid-range smartphones as reliable devices capable of keeping pace with increasingly demanding lifestyles.

With four consecutive generations holding the No. 1 position in Malaysia’s mid-range smartphone segment, the X Series now enters its next chapter. The continued success of the lineup has raised expectations for what HONOR’s next generation can deliver.

As HONOR looks ahead, attention now turns to the HONOR X9e Pro and whether the upcoming device can continue the series’ winning streak while raising the bar once again for the mid-range smartphone segment.
