Petaling Jaya, 12 June 2026 – Dongfeng Heavy Industries Sdn Bhd has officially launched its operations in Malaysia as the appointed dealer of Dongfeng trucks, introducing a comprehensive range of heavy-duty commercial vehicles designed to meet the evolving needs of the local transport and haulage industry. The launch marks a significant milestone for the company as it brings Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles’ advanced truck solutions to Malaysian businesses seeking reliable, durable and efficient transportation solutions.

Led by industry veteran Quek Wang, Executive Director of Dongfeng Heavy Industries, the company will operate from its headquarters in Jalan Meru, Klang following its appointment as an official distributor late last year. The company’s initial truck line-up has been carefully selected to cater to different commercial applications, including tippers, cement mixers and prime movers, providing operators with versatile options for various industrial and logistics requirements.

During the official launch event, Dongfeng Heavy Industries signed a purchase agreement with Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles for 200 truck units, strengthening the company’s commitment to expanding the availability of heavy-duty trucks in Malaysia.

The event also witnessed the signing of an assembly agreement between Dongfeng Heavy Industries and Gemilang Coachwork Sdn Bhd, alongside several purchase agreements with customers. Through this collaboration, Dongfeng trucks will be introduced as Completely Knocked Down (CKD) units, with local assembly support aimed at strengthening operational capabilities and supporting Malaysia’s commercial vehicle ecosystem.


Representing Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles, Wang Long, Chairman of the Board and Party Secretary of China Dongfeng Motor Industry Import & Export Co Ltd, congratulated Dongfeng Heavy Industries on the establishment of its dealership. He highlighted that the partnership reflects Dongfeng’s continued efforts to expand its presence in Malaysia while improving customer support and aftersales services for transport operators nationwide.

During the launch, Quek Wang emphasised that the introduction of Dongfeng’s latest generation heavy-duty trucks was driven by the company’s understanding of the challenges faced by transport businesses. He explained that the vehicles were selected based on their reliability, performance and compliance with EURO V emission standards, featuring proven engine and drivetrain technologies from established manufacturers.

The showcased vehicles included 4x2 and 6x4 prime movers, 6x4 and 8x4 tippers, as well as 6x4 cement mixers. According to Quek, the range was designed to complement one another, allowing customers to select different vehicle types based on their operational needs, whether for construction, logistics, heavy transportation or industrial applications.

The partnership with Gemilang Coachwork further strengthens Dongfeng Heavy Industries’ local operations. Based in Johor, Gemilang Coachwork brings extensive manufacturing experience, advanced production capabilities and strict quality control processes to support the assembly of Dongfeng trucks in Malaysia. Its expertise in handling complex vehicle systems and CKD assembly makes it a strategic partner in ensuring consistent quality and reliability.
