HONOR continues to strengthen its position in Malaysia’s growing foldable smartphone market, with the brand claiming that one in every three foldable devices sold locally is an HONOR smartphone. The company said the achievement reflects growing consumer confidence in its foldable devices, particularly among premium smartphone users seeking a combination of innovative design, durability and value.

Based on HONOR’s internal consumer data, an increasing number of Malaysian smartphone users are making the switch from leading flagship brands to HONOR foldable devices. According to the company, five key factors are driving this shift, namely value for money, durability, battery performance, innovative foldable design and the comprehensive worry-free protection offered with its devices.

As competition in the foldable smartphone segment intensifies, HONOR believes Malaysian consumers are increasingly looking beyond brand prestige and premium price tags when choosing their next device. The company said the HONOR Magic V6 demonstrates that consumers can access advanced foldable technology without necessarily paying a significant premium, offering a combination of flagship features and practical everyday value.

One of the key highlights of the HONOR Magic V6 is its focus on durability and protection. The foldable smartphone is equipped with a Super Steel Hinge rated at 2,800MPa tensile strength, designed to withstand significant pressure. It also features IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance, while the external display is protected by HONOR’s Anti-Scratch NanoCrystal Shield for enhanced resistance against scratches and accidental drops.

Battery performance is another major strength of the HONOR Magic V6. The device comes with a 6,660mAh silicon-carbon battery, which HONOR describes as the largest battery capacity featured in a foldable smartphone. The battery is supported by 80W wired and 66W wireless fast charging, giving users greater flexibility when using the device throughout the day.

The HONOR Magic V6 also aims to redefine photography on foldable smartphones with its 64MP telephoto camera and CIPA 6.5 image stabilisation. The camera system is designed to deliver detailed zoom photography while maintaining image clarity, including in more challenging lighting conditions.

Display technology is another area where the device is positioned as a premium offering. The cover screen can reach up to 6,000 nits of peak brightness, while the inner display offers up to 5,000 nits, helping improve visibility in bright outdoor environments. Both displays also support 4,320Hz risk-free PWM dimming to help reduce eye strain during extended viewing, alongside an anti-reflection coating that can reduce surface glare to as low as 1.5 per cent.

Beyond hardware, the HONOR Magic V6 is designed to support productivity across different devices and ecosystems. Its Fast Flex and PC-level Multi-Flex software features enable users to take advantage of the large foldable display through multi-window multitasking. Enhanced HONOR Share also allows users to transfer files and synchronise content across compatible devices, including iPhone and Mac products.

HONOR is also highlighting the overall value proposition of the Magic V6, which is priced from RM7,699 in Malaysia. The device comes with a 1-Year Worry-Free Crack Protection and 2-Year Worry-Free Quality Assurance, providing buyers with additional protection and peace of mind following their purchase.

With its combination of durability, battery capacity, camera capabilities, eye-friendly displays, cross-device connectivity and protection benefits, HONOR aims to further strengthen its appeal among Malaysian consumers. As the foldable smartphone category continues to evolve, the company’s growing market presence signals increasing competition in a segment where consumers are placing greater emphasis on technology, practicality and long-term value.
