KUALA LUMPUR, 29 June 2026Jobstreet by SEEK has recognised Malaysia’s leading employers and human resource (HR) professionals at the SEEK People & Purpose Awards (SPPA) 2026, celebrating organisations that are redefining workplace excellence through meaningful employee experiences, inclusive cultures and people-focused strategies. Held under the theme “Where Work and Purpose Meet: Recognising Workplaces Malaysians Grow With”, the annual awards highlight companies that successfully connect people, growth and purpose to create environments where employees feel valued, supported and empowered.

The SEEK People & Purpose Awards 2026 continue to build on previous editions by honouring organisations and leaders that demonstrate outstanding commitment towards employee wellbeing, career development and organisational growth. The recognition reflects the growing importance of creating workplaces that not only attract talent but also encourage employees to thrive and contribute meaningfully to business success.

This year’s awards recognise achievements across three key pillars. The Top-Voted Employers Awards celebrate organisations that have earned the trust and recognition of Malaysian employees through a nationwide public voting exercise conducted in partnership with Ipsos Malaysia. Meanwhile, the SEEK People & Purpose Excellence Awards acknowledge employers that have demonstrated strong employer branding and hiring performance based on market and platform insights.

The awards also feature several submission-based categories that highlight impactful workplace initiatives. These include the Best Employee Development Program, which recognises organisations investing in employee learning and future-ready skills; the Best Sustainable HR Practices, which celebrates companies balancing business growth with workforce wellbeing; and the Best Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Awards, which honour employers building inclusive and equitable workplaces. Additional recognitions include Employer of the Year and The People Leader of the Year, celebrating organisations and individuals that have made significant contributions to workplace transformation.

The recognition comes at a time when employers are navigating changing workforce expectations and increasing challenges in attracting and retaining talent. According to the Jobstreet by SEEK Workplace Happiness Index, purpose has become the strongest factor influencing workplace happiness among Malaysians, ranking ahead of compensation, flexibility and career progression. The research also revealed that while 70 per cent of Malaysians feel happy at work, many employees continue to experience challenges, with 41 per cent reporting burnout or exhaustion and only 36 per cent expressing satisfaction with their current stress levels.

The findings further highlight the strong connection between employee wellbeing and business performance. Employees who feel happier at work are reportedly three times more likely to go beyond their regular responsibilities and are less likely to consider leaving their organisations. This demonstrates that investing in workplace culture and employee experience is not only beneficial for individuals but also contributes to stronger organisational resilience and long-term success.

Nicholas Lam, Managing Director of Jobstreet by SEEK Malaysia, said the organisations recognised through the awards demonstrate that successful workplaces are built through continuous investment in people. He highlighted that developing future-ready talent, encouraging inclusive environments, supporting wellbeing and empowering leaders are essential elements in building organisations that are prepared for future challenges.

Unlike traditional employer recognition programmes, the SEEK People & Purpose Awards evaluate organisations through a comprehensive framework combining public voting, independent assessment and market performance. This approach ensures that recognised employers are acknowledged not only for their commitments and initiatives but also for the measurable impact of their workplace practices.

As the future of work continues to evolve, the SEEK People & Purpose Awards 2026 serve as a platform to celebrate employers that are reshaping workplace standards in Malaysia. By placing people, growth and purpose at the centre of business strategies, these organisations demonstrate that when employees and businesses grow together, sustainable success can be achieved.
