PETALING JAYA
– Tune Talk has introduced Epik+ Family Safe, Malaysia’s first family mobile plan with integrated parental controls enforced directly at the mobile network level, marking a new approach to protecting children in the digital age. The launch comes as concerns over children's online safety continue to grow, with increasing national discussions surrounding social media access for users under the age of 16. By embedding safety features into the network itself, Tune Talk aims to simplify digital parenting while helping families create a safer online environment.

Unlike conventional parental control solutions that rely on individual apps or device settings, Epik+ Family Safe allows parents to manage their children's internet access through a single network-based system. With just one tap, parents can choose from three protection levels—low, medium and high—to filter content across up to 56 categories. Because the controls operate at the network level rather than on individual devices, children remain protected regardless of which compatible device they use, reducing the need for multiple third-party applications or complicated configurations.

The solution is powered by Tune Talk's cloud-native mobile network in collaboration with Nokia, enabling seamless, network-level content filtering without compromising convenience. This approach reflects the evolving role of telecommunications providers, which are increasingly expected to offer services that go beyond connectivity by addressing the digital wellbeing and safety needs of modern families. The initiative also demonstrates how telecommunications infrastructure can play a proactive role in supporting responsible internet use.

Supporting the launch, Tune Talk released findings from its Family Digital Confidence Survey, which revealed that 48.1 per cent of Malaysian parents consider exposure to age-inappropriate online content as their biggest concern. The survey also found that more than three in five parents lack confidence in managing their children's digital habits, highlighting the growing demand for practical and easy-to-use digital safety solutions that fit naturally into everyday family life.

Designed as an all-in-one prepaid package, Epik+ Family Safe includes one parent line and one child line, 700GB of high-speed data without Fair Usage Policy (FUP) restrictions, built-in network-level parental controls and personal accident insurance coverage of up to RM500,000. Beyond the product launch, Tune Talk also organised a panel discussion titled "Parenting in the Digital Age", bringing together parenting experts and industry representatives to discuss the challenges of raising children in an increasingly connected world.

With Epik+ Family Safe, Tune Talk is positioning itself as more than a telecommunications provider by integrating digital safety directly into its connectivity services. As Malaysian families continue to navigate the challenges of raising children in an online-first environment, the new mobile plan offers a practical solution that combines connectivity, parental support and digital protection within a single service.
