HONOR has officially launched the HONOR Robot Phone in China, introducing a new category of smartphone technology that combines advanced robotics, artificial intelligence (AI) and cinematic imaging. Designed to break away from the limitations of conventional smartphones, the device features a fully motorised 4DoF mechanical gimbal integrated directly into its flagship design. This allows the smartphone to move intelligently and independently, transforming it into a mobile production studio and an active companion for content creators.

At the heart of the device is the HONOR Titanium Agile Gimbal, developed through 60 manufacturing processes and incorporating more than 100 precision components and over 100 patents. HONOR has reduced the system’s overall size by 65% compared with mainstream gimbals while increasing structural strength by 200%. Its 2.6-gram titanium gimbal motor supports control speeds of up to 360 degrees per second, enabling fast and precise camera movements within a compact smartphone form factor.

The HONOR Robot Phone also introduces an advanced imaging system featuring a Dual 200MP camera setup. The system comprises a 200MP Agile Gimbal Main Camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor and f/1.6 aperture, alongside a 200MP Periscope Telephoto Camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor and 2.7x optical zoom. A 50MP Ultra-Wide Camera with a 122-degree field of view completes the camera system, giving users greater flexibility when capturing photographs and videos.

A major highlight is HONOR’s collaboration with professional cinema technology leader ARRI through the HONOR–ARRI Cinematic Imaging Partnership. The partnership brings selected elements of ARRI Image Science and professional cinema workflows to the smartphone, including ARRI LogC3, ARRI Wide Gamut 3 and ARRI Looks. The main camera supports 10-bit ARRI LogC3 recording in ARRI CINEMA mode, providing creators with greater control over colour, highlights and shadows during post-production.

The imaging system is further supported by the HONOR H1 Image Chip and AI-powered processing. AI noise reduction improves video signal-to-noise ratio by up to 8dB, while AI dynamic range optimisation supports up to 14 stops of dynamic range. The video pipeline processes footage in the RAW domain using 14-bit 4:4:4 data before outputting 10-bit LogC3 and 4:2:2 video, allowing creators to retain more image information for professional editing workflows, including applications such as DaVinci Resolve.

Beyond imaging, the HONOR Robot Phone introduces a new approach to embodied AI through MagicOS. Its YOYO Robot Mode combines multimodal perception, contextual understanding, gesture recognition and physical movement to turn the smartphone into an autonomous personal camera crew. Features such as AI Live-Tracking and Voice Source Localization allow the camera to automatically pan and tilt to keep users in frame while recording vlogs, livestreams or participating in video calls.

The device also offers several cinematic movement modes, including Tilt Lock, First Person View (FPV), FPV Vertical and AI SpinShot. Hands-free gesture controls allow users to deploy the camera arm and capture content without physically touching the phone. Meanwhile, YOYO Auto Execution enables the system-level AI agent to understand user intent and perform multi-step tasks across supported applications and system settings.

Performance is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, supported by a custom cooling system designed to maintain stable performance during extended recording sessions. The smartphone also features a 7,060mAh next-generation HONOR Silicon-carbon Battery with support for 120W wired and 50W wireless HONOR SuperCharge. Its 6.31-inch LTPO OLED HONOR AI Eye Comfort Display supports an adaptive 1–120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 6,800 nits.

The HONOR Robot Phone is currently available in China in two configurations: 12GB RAM + 512GB storage priced at RMB9,999, and 16GB RAM + 1TB storage priced at RMB12,999. The device was first showcased at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 and later demonstrated its cinematic capabilities at Cannes Film Festival’s China Night and the 28th Shanghai International Film Festival.

In conjunction with the launch, HONOR Malaysia has also unveiled its refreshed brand logo and new “Dare to Be” slogan. The new identity reflects HONOR’s evolution from a smartphone manufacturer into an AI device ecosystem company, with a growing focus on AI, robotics, computational photography, cinematic imaging and cross-device connectivity. Through the Robot Phone and its broader technology ecosystem, HONOR aims to challenge conventional smartphone design and give consumers new ways to create, interact and experience technology.
