This National Day, HONOR is bringing the future of robotics to Malaysia with the international debut of its self-developed humanoid robots, the HONOR Robotics A1 and D1. The two humanoid robots will make their first international appearance at the Malaysia Marathon 2026 on 30 August before joining the National Day Parade in Putrajaya on 31 August. Their appearance marks a unique convergence of advanced technology, innovation and national pride.
Malaysia is the first country outside China to witness the humanoid robots in action, highlighting the country’s importance as a key market for HONOR. The international debut follows D1’s victory at the 2nd Beijing E-Town Humanoid Robot Half-Marathon in April, where it showcased its mobility, stability and endurance beyond controlled laboratory environments. The milestone also reflects HONOR’s commitment to bringing its latest technological innovations and future-ready experiences closer to Malaysians.
At the Malaysia Marathon 2026, Malaysians will have the opportunity to see the humanoid robots put their capabilities to the test across different race categories. D1 will take part in the 10KM route, starting from Pavilion Kuala Lumpur at midnight, while A1 will participate in the 5KM category, which begins at Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) at 7.30am. A1 will run alongside participants, including Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, offering runners a rare opportunity to share the race track with a humanoid robot.
Beyond the marathon, visitors can get up close with A1 and D1 at HONOR’s booths at KLCC and Pavilion Kuala Lumpur from 29 to 30 August 2026. Lucky visitors will be able to take photos with the robots while exploring HONOR’s latest devices, including the HONOR Magic V6, HONOR X9d and HONOR 600 Series. The booths will also feature interactive activities designed to showcase the durability and capabilities of HONOR’s devices.
One of the highlights is the HONOR Magic V6 Strongman Challenge, where participants can test the durability of its hinge by hanging from a pull-up bar for 60 seconds. Successful participants will receive complimentary gifts, including a smartphone screen protector or back-film sticker, while stocks last. Meanwhile, the HONOR X9d will take on two durability challenges, including a washing machine test to demonstrate its water resistance and a staple gun challenge to put its screen strength to the test.
Visitors can also receive a complimentary photo print featuring a customised National Day-themed frame by following HONOR Malaysia’s social media channels. The activity provides visitors with a memorable keepsake from their experience with HONOR’s latest technology and humanoid robots, with complimentary prints available while stocks last.
Following their appearance at the Malaysia Marathon, A1 and D1 will head to Dataran Putrajaya on 31 August to join the National Day Parade. The occasion marks HONOR’s debut as a parade contingent and makes the brand the first smartphone company to participate in the country’s largest National Day celebration.
As Malaysia celebrates its 69th National Day, HONOR’s participation highlights its efforts to make emerging technologies more accessible and engaging for the public. From the marathon track to the National Day Parade, the appearance of A1 and D1 showcases how robotics and intelligent technology are increasingly becoming part of everyday experiences while offering Malaysians a glimpse into the possibilities of the future.
