Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) has brought together leading clinicians and allied health professionals from across the region for the 1st IJN Vascular Symposium 2026, a two-day programme focused on advancing expertise, innovation and collaboration in vascular care.

Held from 12 to 13 August 2026 under the theme “Where Precision Hands Meet Precision Technology,” the inaugural symposium highlights IJN’s commitment to combining specialised clinical expertise with advanced technology to deliver safe, precise and patient-centred treatment. The programme covered four key areas of vascular care, namely aortic, venous, peripheral and haemodialysis vascular access.

Participants were given opportunities to exchange experiences through case sharing, treatment planning sessions and clinical discussions covering a wide range of vascular conditions. The programme also addressed challenging cases involving complications and other clinical issues, providing practical insights into decision-making, procedural techniques and complication management.

Senior Consultant Vascular Surgeon at IJN, Dr. Ismazizi Zaharudin, said modern vascular care requires a combination of clinical precision, sound judgement and multidisciplinary collaboration. He highlighted that while technological advancements continue to expand treatment options, successful patient outcomes remain dependent on clinical expertise and the ability to select and execute the most appropriate treatment for each individual.


Meanwhile, IJN Group Chief Executive Officer Prof. Dato’ Sri Dr. Mohamed Ezani Md Taib said the symposium reinforces IJN’s role in supporting the advancement of specialised healthcare through education, innovation and professional collaboration. He noted that healthcare institutions have a responsibility not only to provide treatment but also to contribute to clinical knowledge, professional development and stronger cooperation within the healthcare community.

The symposium also provided a platform for clinicians and allied health professionals to exchange best practices and explore the latest developments in vascular technology and procedures. The participation of 11 industry partners further strengthened engagement between healthcare professionals and medical technology providers, giving attendees greater exposure to emerging solutions in vascular care.

Beyond knowledge sharing, the event created opportunities for participants to establish professional connections and explore potential collaborations in clinical research, education and patient care. These engagements are expected to contribute towards stronger regional cooperation and continued improvements in vascular treatment standards.
