In conjunction with Malaysia Day, Alamanda Shopping Centre, in collaboration with the Malaysian Official Designers’ Association (MODA), will present the inaugural ADIWARNA RUNWAY from 10 to 13 September 2026 at the mall’s Centre Court in Putrajaya. The four-day fashion showcase is set to transform Alamanda into a vibrant platform celebrating Malaysian creativity, culture and homegrown fashion talent.

The inaugural event marks a significant milestone for Putrajaya’s retail and lifestyle scene, bringing together fashion, entertainment and community activities under one platform. ADIWARNA RUNWAY will kick off with a special presentation featuring 22 MODA designers, each showcasing a signature creation made using an exclusive textile print inspired by the vivid colours of the hibiscus, Malaysia’s national flower.

Throughout the four-day showcase, 16 local designers will take centre stage with dedicated runway presentations. The participating designers are 3THELABEL, Ariff Atelier, Arlina Ayou, Bill Keith, CARRO, CASALWA, EL by Ellie Lim, HERA, Justin Yap Atelier, NANALYANA, Outdwell, SITI KHADIJAH, Variante, Yani Bakhtiar, Yuleza and Zayana Yazed Creations.

Featuring a diverse mix of contemporary ready-to-wear and modern modest fashion, the collections demonstrate the versatility of Malaysian design while highlighting the potential of cultural heritage as a source of inspiration for the creative economy. The showcase also provides local brands with an opportunity to connect with consumers and strengthen their presence within Malaysia’s fashion and retail landscape.

Francis Tan, Executive Director and CEO of Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd, said hosting ADIWARNA RUNWAY represents an exciting new chapter for Alamanda Shopping Centre as it brings a premier fashion platform directly to Putrajaya. He said the Malaysia Day celebration aims to create an engaging retail experience where shoppers, civil servants and families can experience Malaysian artistry while celebrating national pride.

He added that the collaboration with MODA reflects Alamanda’s commitment to supporting local creative talent and celebrating Malaysia’s rich cultural identity. By bringing designers and consumers together in a retail environment, the event creates a platform for Malaysian fashion to be experienced beyond traditional fashion venues.

MODA President Cyrus Chin said ADIWARNA RUNWAY shines a spotlight on talented Malaysian designers by giving them a meaningful platform to showcase their work and pursue greater ambitions. He added that partnering with Alamanda, a landmark shopping destination attracting visitors from different communities, could help create greater visibility and opportunities for local designers to grow both domestically and internationally.

Beyond the runway presentations, visitors will also have the opportunity to shop for exclusive ready-to-wear pieces at the Adiwarna Runway Bazaar. The event will further come alive with performances by local artistes including Bunga Isme, Daniel Chuer, Daniesh Suffian, Datuk Syafinaz, Ernie Zakri, Farah Dolhadi, Layla Sania and Yazmin Aziz, adding an entertainment element to the fashion showcase.

The celebration will also encourage community participation through the Family Fashion Walk, featuring shopper-winners from Alamanda’s mall-wide Model Search. The initiative gives families and members of the public an opportunity to experience the excitement of walking the runway while becoming part of the Malaysia Day festivities.

With its combination of fashion, retail, entertainment and community activities, ADIWARNA RUNWAY is poised to offer visitors a vibrant celebration of Malaysian creativity. More than a fashion showcase, the four-day event highlights the importance of providing local designers and creative entrepreneurs with platforms to reach wider audiences while celebrating the diverse cultural identity that makes Malaysia unique.
