Johor Bahru, 10 September 2026
— TP in Malaysia, a global provider of digital business services, has expanded its presence in the country with the opening of a new operations centre in Johor Bahru, strengthening its capabilities to support businesses across Singapore and Southeast Asia.

The new Johor Bahru site complements TP’s existing operations in Kuala Lumpur and Penang, further expanding the company’s national footprint while establishing a strategic nearshore delivery hub for customer experience, digital operations and revenue services. The facility will provide Singapore-based businesses with access to Malaysia’s skilled and multilingual talent pool, supported by a flexible and scalable cross-border operating model.

Located just across the Causeway from Singapore, Johor Bahru offers strong geographical proximity, cultural alignment and operational flexibility. These advantages are expected to support more efficient oversight, training and governance for industries including banking, fintech, travel and hospitality. Situated within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), the new facility is also positioned to cater to growing demand from Singapore-headquartered businesses, global business services (GBS) centres and multinational companies expanding their operations across Southeast Asia.

Andy Rangel, Chief Executive Officer of TP in Malaysia, said the Johor Bahru expansion marks an important milestone in the company’s continued growth in Malaysia. He highlighted that the new site will not only increase TP’s delivery capabilities but also provide access to multilingual talent while offering Singapore-based businesses greater agility, scalability and operational resilience. As artificial intelligence continues to transform customer experience, Johor Bahru is expected to play an increasingly important role in combining advanced technology with skilled human expertise.

Malaysia’s growing appeal as a destination for digital and business services is also reflected in the continued expansion of its GBS sector. According to the Ministry of Digital, Malaysia is home to 749 GBS companies, with industry revenue projected to reach RM28.14 billion. The figures highlight the country’s strong talent pool, digital infrastructure and attractiveness to investors. Johor’s emergence as one of Malaysia’s fastest-growing economic regions further reinforces its potential as a hub for technology-enabled services and cross-border business operations.

The Johor Bahru expansion also forms part of TP’s broader talent strategy, enabling the company to tap into the region’s rapidly growing workforce. The new centre is expected to create opportunities for local talent to develop expertise in customer experience, digital operations and AI-enabled service delivery, while supporting regional and global businesses across Southeast Asia.

The facility will initially support a leading global e-commerce company, with further growth expected from multinational organisations and Singapore-based businesses seeking high-quality customer experience and digital business services close to their home markets. The site will also contribute to TP’s expanding Revenue as a Service capabilities in Malaysia, helping businesses strengthen their sales and revenue operations through specialised talent, technology and AI-enabled solutions.

With the addition of Johor Bahru to its existing Kuala Lumpur and Penang operations, TP is strengthening its position in Malaysia while creating a strategic nearshore platform designed to support the evolving needs of businesses across Singapore and the wider Southeast Asian region.
